4 Recommendations: \u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a01. Modify the Alternative Minimum Tax (\u201cAMT\u201d) schedule to reduce the negative economic impact on the mineral exploration industry by:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0a) Eliminating the phantom capital gain in line 1 of the AMT Schedule; and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0b) Reducing the add back of Canadian Exploration Expenses (\u201cCEE\u201d) as funded through the Flow-Through Share (\u201cFTS\u201d) structure to 30%.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a02. Renew the Mineral Exploration Tax Credit (\u201cMETC\u201d) for 5 years beyond March 2025, and extend the Critical Mineral Exploration Tax Credit (\u201cCMETC\u201d) by 3 years, from 2027, thereby aligning the two incentives to expire March 2030.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a03. Make all 34 minerals on Canada\u2019s Critical Minerals List eligible for the CMETC and update section 248(a), the definition of \u201cmineral resource\u201d, in the Income Tax Act (Canada) (\u201cITA\u201d) to read: \u201ca base or precious metal or a critical mineral\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a04.
